Virtual Conference

Maintaining the Interaction, Networking and High-Standards Expected of PIMRC

PIMRC 2020 is pleased to announce following the decision to make PIMRC 2020 a virtual conference we have been working hard to identify a delivery platform that will maintain the benefits of networking and interaction that make our conference such a success.

PIMRC 2020 will take place using the Virtual Conference Platform Whova EMS (Event Management System), with conferencing platform Zoom. Whova, operates as both a web-application, and a mobile application. By downloading the mobile application you will benefit most from the networking aspects of the platform, allowing you to directly interact with presenters, speakers and attendees through the application. All-conference sessions will be accessed through Whova either on the web or mobile application.

When registering for Whova it is important that you register using the same email used for your conference registration.

Delivering Your Paper Presentation at PIMRC 2020

To ensure PIMRC 2020 runs smoothly while maintaining levels of interactivity we will be running technical sessions as a blend of live & pre-recorded content. Each Presenter will be required to upload a pre-recorded video of their oral presentation by the 17th August, (all presentation will be oral, there will no poster presentations at PIMRC 2020). Presenters will be expected to attend their allocated live-session where their pre-recorded video will be shown (If the presenter wishes they may present live). Following each oral presentation, a live Q&A will take place. Attendees will be requested to attend their session 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to test their microphone level and meet the session chair.

Further requirements and instructions on recording your presentation, with a video tutorial, have been provided.

Tutorials and Workshops at PIMRC 2020

One of the main benefits of attending conference tutorials and workshops is the ability to interact and ask questions of Tutorial Instructors and Workshop Presenters. For this reason, all Tutorial and Workshop sessions at PIMRC 2020 will involve interactivity, with live Q&A’s and live video and/or chat-based discussions. Sessions may, in addition, use pre-recorded content dependent on the individual session.
